Sedation Dentistry: Restoring Confidence in Oral Care

Sedation Dentistry in Colorado Springs CO Area

Millions of people have a legitimate fear of the dentist, which keeps them from receiving quality dental care. At the office of Mark H. Wright DDS, we take a stance against dental anxiety and fear through sedation dentistry. Dr. Wright and our team offer oral sedation to our patients in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to restore their confidence in oral care. With sedation dentistry, your dental visits can be productive, positive, and stress-free.

Oral Sedation: Paving the Way to Good Oral Health

Everyone needs help occasionally to keep up with their oral care. If you suffer from dental phobia, oral sedation could be the solution to receiving the services you need to stay on top of your oral health. Oral sedation comes in the form of a pill you take about an hour before your dental treatment. This medication produces drowsiness, which helps you relax in the dental chair. Are you awake during oral sedation? Yes, you’re awake for your procedure, but you’ll be in such a total state of relaxation that you’ll feel no anxiety, stress, or fear. Sedation dentistry can help you see dental care in a positive light so you can make it a regular part of your life.

Here’s how oral sedation can pave the way to good oral health:

  • Increases Confidence in Routine Care
Dental phobia can keep you from the dental chair, increasing your risk of problems with decay, tooth infections, and gum disease. Oral sedation eliminates stress and fear, giving you the confidence to receive regular dental care. Routine care helps prevent dental problems and promote better oral health.
  • Expands Dental Care Options
When you have dental anxiety, it’s easy to avoid treatments that trigger fear or stress. Sedation dentistry can make you more open to these dental care options to improve oral health. Dr. Wright and our team can use oral sedation for cavity treatment, root canals, deep cleanings, tooth extractions, dental implants, and other treatments that can help keep your smile healthy and strong long-term.
  • Increases Endurance for Long Treatments
Oral sedation can help you endure lengthy or complex treatments to restore your oral health by keeping you calm and comfortable in the dental chair. We’ll be able to work with fewer distractions and interruptions to complete your treatments in one sitting rather than have you return for multiple appointments, saving you time and money on your dental care.
  • Improves Work Performance
Dr. Wright and our team can work best when patients are calm and relaxed. You won’t be shifting around in the chair or asking for frequent breaks, which can disrupt your treatment. Oral sedation also minimizes the gagging reflex, making our job much easier. We can work effectively and efficiently to provide the quality dental care you deserve.
