At Mark H Wright DDS, patients in the Colorado Springs, Colorado, area have options for restoring their smiles. This includes dental crowns, a common dental restoration made of porcelain, used to strengthen and protect a damaged natural tooth. But unlike other dental offices in the area, Dr. Mark H. Wright is proud to use CEREC technology, which allows for same-day dental restorations to be made–making dental visits for restorative dentistry a breeze!Â
Let’s look at the advantages of the CEREC device and how it is used in our state-of-the-art dental office!
CEREC, the acronym for “Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic,” is described by Dr. Mark H. Wright as a dental restoration technology that allows the creation of high-quality ceramic restorations such as dental crowns, porcelain veneers, inlays, and onlays right in the office. This eliminates the need for numerous appointments and temporary restorations, saving both time and money for both the patient and the team.
CEREC is an innovative technology allowing dentists to create dental restorations on-site in one visit. Patients can expect to arrive at the dental office for the preparation of their teeth. Then, digital technology is used to obtain “electronic molds” of the prepared tooth and convert it through CAD/CAM software. Then, within 20 minutes, a brand new restoration customized for the patient is milled from a block of porcelain while patients wait in the dentist’s chair. The restoration is then bonded in place during the same appointment, eliminating any follow-up visits or the creation of uncomfortable temporary restorations.
If you need a same-day crown or other restoration to repair damage to your smile, we invite you to book a consultation appointment at our office to discuss your needs with Dr. Mark H. Wright.
