Complete Your Smile Naturally with Dental Implant Restorations

One reason dental implants are so appealing is their natural-looking appearance. Replacing lost teeth with implants is a joy, as your smile will have all the characteristics of natural teeth. If you’re considering dental implants, talk to Dr. Mark Wright in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We can help optimize your dental implant restoration treatment

Components of Dental Implants

Dental implants have three components: a titanium rod, aka implant, an abutment, and a restoration. Each of these components plays a vital role in your treatment.

The titanium rod is surgically embedded into your jaw to replace your lost tooth root. Over the next 3-6 months, this rod will integrate with your bone system to become a permanent foundation for your replacement teeth.

Once your implant has healed, an abutment will be added to support your restoration. Lastly, your restoration will be attached to the abutment to complete your treatment. Implant restorations come in the form of dental crowns for replacing single teeth, bridges for replacing multiple teeth in a row, or dentures for replacing an entire arch or all of your teeth.

How Implants Mimic Natural Teeth

If you want replacement teeth that look, feel, and work like natural teeth, you can’t go wrong with implants.

  • Implants give you the stability and chewing power of natural teeth because they’re a permanent part of your bone system. You can eat confidently, knowing your new teeth won’t shift, slip or fall out unexpectedly.
  • Implants function like tooth roots in stimulating bone growth to keep your jawbone from deteriorating.
  • Implants prevent dental drift to keep your remaining teeth in proper alignment.
  • Implant restorations can be customized to closely resemble natural teeth’ size, shape, and color, giving your smile a natural-looking appeal.
  • Implants can stay healthy and strong through daily brushing, flossing, and regular dental cleanings, just like your natural teeth.

These qualities and more make implants your best choice for replacing lost teeth.
